The County of Stettler No. 6 is seeking residents who are interested in local issues and in representing residents from the County of Stettler community, as a Member-at-Large. As a Member-at-Large you are required to attend Board meetings, complete required training and participate in other Board-related activities, as needed. All Member-at-Large positions facilitated by the County are compensated according to Policy CN 1.06 – Member at Large and Committee Member Renumeration.
The County of Stettler is seeking applications for Members-at-Large for the following Boards, or Committees:
- Assessment Review Board: The Board that hears property assessment complaints for a municipality. This Board is only convened when formal property assessment complaints are filed.
- Pest Control Act Appeal Board: This Board is convened when a Pest Notice is appealed by the landowner or occupant.
- Stettler and District Family & Community Support Services: Stettler FCSS provides social support services to Town and County residents, the Board assists in programming, financial matters and more. The Board meets monthly, except during the months of July and August.
- Stettler Public Library Board: The Stettler Library Board guides the operations of the local Library. The Board meets monthly, except during the months of July and August.
- Stettler Waste Management Authority: The Stettler Waste Management Authority provides regional solid waste services for the County and contained municipalities. The Board approves the budget, represents municipal interest, and develops and implements policy. The Board meets quarterly, and may have Special Meetings added to the schedule, as needed.
- Weed Control Act Appeal Board: This Board is convened when a Weed Notice is appealed by the landowner or occupant.
