Seeking Members-At-Large: Steering Committee to guide Land Use Bylaw and Municipal Development Plan

County of Stettler Residents: Are you Interested in the Future Planning of Your Community?

The County of Stettler is seeking three (3) County representatives to serve as Members-at-Large on a Steering Committee to guide the review of the County’s Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw. These two documents provide the cornerstone of how our County develops in the future. They address issues like: types of land uses, zoning districts, dwellings per parcel of land, number of private titles per quarter section, multi-lot subdivisions, recreational development.

The role of the Steering Committee will be to identify key issues that need to be addressed, and to meet with council members, administration staff and Parkland Community Planning Services at various phases of the planning process to review the compiled information, and to provide direction on the vision of the Municipal Development Plan and Land Use Bylaw, and related policies.

If you reside in the County of Stettler and are interested in being a member of the Steering Committee, please submit a letter of interest briefly outlining your background and interest to Jacinta Donovan, Director of Planning Services, jdonovan@stettlercounty.ca, Box 1270, Stettler, AB T0C 2L0, or deliver to 6602-44 Avenue, Stettler. For more information contact 403-742-4441 Ext. 119.

Commitment: The Steering Committee will meet on a regular basis from June 2022 – October 2023 during the plan preparation process. The Steering Committee may also attend public engagement sessions as required.

Deadline to submit interest is Friday, May 27, 2022.

Applications and appointments will be considered by Council at the June 8, 2022 Regular Council Meeting.
