Roadside Clean Up Program - Fundraising Opportunity for Community and Youth Groups

The County of Stettler has a roadside clean-up program that encourages community and youth groups located within the County of Stettler boundaries to apply to the County of Stettler to clean up rural road right-of-ways throughout the County.

The County of Stettler will pay the applicant $55 per kilometer of roadway right-of-way cleaned on both sides and $75 per kilometer of roadway right-of-way cleaned on both sides for roads that are located within 10 miles of a town/village or 2 miles of a landfill site.

  • Participants must be at least 9 years of age to participate. 
  • Filled garbage bags are placed along the outer edge of the roadway shoulder and will be picked up and disposed of by County employees.
  • The County will supply training materials, fluorescent-colored safety vests, work gloves and garbage bags.
  • Each group will be awarded a maximum of 10 miles.
